Long Island politician fighting Cuomo’s marijuana push


Gov. Cuomo’s push to legalize recreational marijuana is becoming a potent political issue in the city’s suburbs, particularly Long Island. Rob Trotta, a Republican candidate running for Suffolk County executive, is campaigning against legalization. Trotta, a Suffolk legislator and retired cop who announced his candidacy last week, wants to prohibit recreational weed from being sold anywhere in the county, saying he doesn’t want to promote reefer madness.
